Kia ora! I’m Fifi, an illustrator, writer and costume and props maker, based in Wellington, New Zealand. I work from my sunny home studio, where I look out over houses and trees towards the sea. I’ve been drawing and making things ever since I can remember and feel happiest when I have a pencil, scissors or a glue gun in my hand.
My apprentice is a youthful ginger cat called Griffin, but he’s still learning how to leave the paintbrushes alone and my fabric in one piece!
I am also represented by SpeakersInkif you’d like to book me for a workshop or presentation!
I do a wide range of work from Children’s book writing and illustration to costume and props commissions. My style varies depending on the needs of my clients, and I am comfortable working in both traditional and digital media. Creating Wearable Art for over two decades has taught me fantastic 3D concept and construction skills that I bring to my original designs.
I’m very active visiting schools and community groups, inspiring budding artists and writers through workshops in creative process. These are hands on courses, and I can tailor them to suit your group’s focus.
